Today’s episode is a special one for me because my guest is someone I deeply respect as both an educator and a leader—Dr. Sherri Greene.

Dr. Greene spent decades serving students and teachers in public education, most recently as an elementary school principal, where she navigated many of the challenges that school leaders across the country are facing today—teacher shortages, increasing demands on schools, community pressures, and the constant responsibility of supporting both students and staff.

Since retiring from K–12 leadership, Dr. Greene has continued her impact in a new way. She now serves on the faculty of a highly regarded university in Georgia, where she helps prepare the next generation of educators and school leaders.

Many of you may also recognize Dr. Greene from the Behind the Desk: The Reality of School Leadership workshop series. She facilitated our first session and will be leading our upcoming conversation titled “Raising the Bar Again: Reclaiming Professionalism in the Teaching Workforce.”

Today we’re going to talk about her experiences as a principal during some of the most challenging years in public education, what she learned about supporting teachers and sustaining leadership, and how those lessons are shaping the way she now prepares future educators.
